Participant1. How many latent factors did the EFA suggest?
The exportory factor analysis suggest three latent factors. The first three components had eigenvalues greater than 1.0- a common rule of thumb for factor retention. Together, they accounted for a substantial proportion of the total variance.
rotated factor Mtrix The rotation (Varimax) reveleed three clean groupings:
Factor 1: Motivation
Factor 2: Engagement
Factor 3: Anxiety
Each item set loads strongly on its respective factor with minimal cross loadings reinforcing the three factor structure.2.Which variables loaded cleanly on each factor/component?
Factor 1 Motivation had very high loadings >.90 on this factor and minimal loading elsewhere
Factor Engagement these loaded strongly >.82 on this factor and did not cross load significantly
Factor3 Anxiety is a clean set of anxiety indicators all loaded >.813. Did PCA results confirm or or differ from EFA?
The PCA results actually confirm the findings of your EFA quite nicely
