ParticipantThe mean perceived stress score was 26.30 (SD= 4.95) while the mean number of sleep hours was 5.60 (SD= 1.13).
This student conducted an independent samples t test to compare the sleeping hours between male and female students. The results were not significant enough to suggest a difference in sleep hours based on sex: t= 1.62 (df= 8), p= .144. Nonetheless, there was large effect size Cohen’s d= 1.05.
Moreover a Pearson correlation was conducted to examine the relationship between sleep hours and perceived stress levels. This assay suggested a strong negative, linear relationship between the two variables: -.97, p<.001. These results suggest that fewer hours of sleep were linked to higher levels of perceived stress.

ParticipantThe average perceived stress score among the students is 26.30
Males sleep more on average
Yes, there is a relationship between stress and sleep. There is a very strong negative linear correlation (-0.9742207) between stress and sleep ie. as the number of hours of sleep increase, the stress level decreases

Participant1. What is the average perceived stress score among the students? 33.00
2. Did males or females sleep more on average? Males slept more than females
3. Is there a relationship between stress and sleep?
The higher the stress indicated, the less the sleep potential.
What does the correlation suggest?
Not sure how to explain this. -

Participant1. What is the average perceived stress score among the students?
Ans: 26.302. Did males or females sleep more on average?
Ans: The mean score for males’ sleep was 6.250. For females, it was 5.167. The males slept more on average, though the difference is not statistically significant.3. Is there a relationship between stress and sleep? What does the correlation suggest?
Ans: There is a negative correlation (-0.9742207) between stress and sleep. It suggests that the lower the stress, the higher the number of hours of sleep.
