ParticipantAnalysis done using SPSS
1. What is the average perceived stress score among the students?
The Average perceived stress score is 26.3
2. Did males or females sleep more on average?
The t-test results show that there is no statistically significant difference between the two groups. However, The p-value for the two-sided test is greater than 0.05, indicating that the difference in means is not statistically significant. Therefore Males on average slept more than females but the difference was not much.
3.Is there a relationship between stress and sleep? What does the correlation suggest?
There is a negative relationship between Perceived Stress Score and Hours of Sleep (per night), with a significant correlation. Individuals with higher perceived stress sleep for fewer hours, and the strength of this correlation is statistically significant at the 0.01 level.

ParticipantI used both SPSS and R to do this activity. I personally prefer SPSS, but that might be because I have more experience with using SPSS and probably need more practice with R for it to grow on me. I also prefer SPSS’s output layout.
Answers:
1. The average perceived stress score among the students (M & F) is 26.3.
2. According to the t-test results, the male students slept slightly more hours (6.25 hrs) on average per night than female students (5.17 hrs).
3. There is a significant negative correlation at the 0.01 level between the perceived stress score and the hours of sleep per night indicating that students with higher perceived stress tend to sleep for fewer hours per night. -
